Fringed by the peaks of the Southern Carpathian Mountains and resplendent with gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture, as well as a wealth of historical attractions, Brasov is one of the most visited places in Romania. The old town is one of the best preserved old towns in Europe with splendid architecture and old fortifications. The city has an amazing history with influences from Germany, the Austria-Hungarian Empire and the old communist state.

On the way to Brasov we visit Peles Castle, one of the most important historic buildings in Romania with unique character and it is therefore through its historical and artistic value, one of the most important monuments of this kind in the Europe.
Piatra Craiului National Park
Piatra Craiului Natural Park features the longest and highest limestone ridge in the country (over 15 miles long and 6560 ft. high). Bordered by glacial lakes, the ridge is regarded as one of the most beautiful sights in the Carpathians. The descent at the southern end leads into a karst landscape of deep gorges and pitted slopes where water penetrating the rock has carved a series of caves.
The traditional villages of Magura, Pestera, Ciocanu, Sirnea, make for interesting starting points for the routes on the eastern slope and for getting in touch with the traditional Romanian way of life.

One of the most spectacular mountain bike routes around is the one leading up to Mount Postăvaru. Cyclists can go up the mountain in a cable car in order to discover various routes to put them to the test. From atop, we ride down towards Brașov’s old city centre, while breathing in the fresh and crisp mountain air.
