Day 1
Bucharest – Sibiu

Pick-up from airport heading to Sibiu, the largest and wealthiest of the seven walled citadels built in the 12th century by German settlers known as Transylvanian Saxons. The riches amassed by its guilds paid for the construction of both impressive buildings and the fortifications required to protect them.
Sibiu is a pedestrian-friendly city with two easily accessible levels: the Upper town, home to most of Sibiu’s historic sights, and the Lower town, lined with colorful houses on cobblestone streets and bounded by imposing city walls and defense towers overlooking the river Cibin.

Day 2

Sibiu – Biertan – Sighisoara 

Sighisoara, the birthplace of          Vlad Dracula was founded by Transylvanian Saxons during the 12th century, Sighisoara  still stands as one of the most beautiful and best-preserved medieval towns in Europe.

Biertan village is a typical example of Saxon medieval architecture: the streets, the houses and near the central square the guardian. Right there, on the top of the hill, the fortified church takes care of the village. This village still preserves a sizable Saxon community.

Day 3
 

Sighisoara – Bran – Brasov

On the way to Brasov we visit Bran Castle to discover the legend of Count Dracula and Rasnov Fortresses with a simple architectonic style, closed to the structure of the ordinary houses and being adapted to the fortification conditions was a part of a defending system of the Transylvanian places that were exposed to invaders’ attacks. The medieval atmosphere is even nowadays present, after 500 years of existence.
Brasov provides a mix of wonderful mountain scenery in the nearby Poiana Braşov and medieval history with German influences in the old town.

Day 4

Brasov – Sinaia – Bucharest

Depending on your flight departure time, before  saying goodbye we will visit in Sinaia the Peles Castle, build between 1873 and 1914, has been the summer residence of the Romanian Royal family and it is the most visited museum in Romania.
