Founded by Transylvanian Saxons during the 12th century, Sighisoara still stands as one of the most beautiful and best-preserved medieval towns in Europe. Designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this perfectly intact 16th century gem with nine towers, cobbled streets, burgher houses and ornate churches for atmospheric magic. It is also the birthplace of Vlad Dracula.
The fortified church Viscri is considered to be oldest church in Transylvania, and also one of the best preserved. It has been built at the beginning of the 13th century.

Prejmer Fortified Church is one of a series of UNESCO-listed historic churches in Romania and is known for being the largest church of its kind in south eastern Europe. Built from 1212 and completed in 1225, Prejmer Fortified Church was a construction of the Roman Catholic Teutonic knights.
The church at Hărman, also a UNESCO listed historic church dates back to 1240, the belfry tower was added in the 14thcentury, and the walls were constructed in the 15th century.
Rasnov Fortress is one of the best preserved rustic citadels from Transylvania.
